Why convert JPG to PNG

Frequently asked questions
Does converting JPG to PNG improve image quality?
No. The original JPG's lossy compression already happened before you uploaded the file; converting to PNG preserves that quality as-is, it can't "recover" lost detail.
Will the PNG file be larger?
Usually, yes. PNG is lossless, so the file tends to be heavier than the original JPG, especially for photos with lots of colors and detail.
Is there a file size limit?
